On the morning of May 16, 2026, in the Con Dao Special Zone, Ho Chi Minh City, the VNVC Vaccination Center System presented the Con Dao Special Zone with a special vaccine sponsorship package worth more than VND 10 billion. The package includes key components such as:
VNVC PRESENTS A SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE WORTH OVER VND 10 BILLION
Free influenza vaccination for the military and residents of Con Dao for three consecutive years
Donation of the first GSP-standard vaccine cold storage facility in Con Dao
Priority supply of new-generation and essential vaccines

This meaningful initiative by the VNVC Vaccination Center System has received strong support and encouragement from the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People’s Committee, and Department of Health, as it leverages the strengths of private healthcare organizations such as VNVC through close public-private collaboration aimed at improving public health and quality of life, while ensuring that people in all regions have access to high-quality healthcare services.
Ho Chi Minh City is currently leading the country in implementing solutions to develop the healthcare sector in a modern and specialized direction, with a strong focus on strengthening grassroots healthcare capacity and consolidating the preventive healthcare system in remote, maritime, and island areas in a modern, proactive, and sustainable manner. This is a clear demonstration of the practical implementation of Politburo Resolution No. 72 on breakthrough solutions in public healthcare, shifting the focus from treatment to proactive disease prevention, with particular emphasis on vaccination.
One of the most distinctive and sustainable highlights of the sponsorship package is VNVC’s investment in, operation of, and donation of the first international GSP-standard vaccine cold storage system in Con Dao, meeting stringent vaccine storage standards to ensure the safety and effectiveness of vaccination activities
The cold storage facility is designed to strictly maintain vaccine storage conditions at 2 – 8°C, featuring a continuous temperature monitoring system, automatic alert devices for temperature fluctuations, backup power supply, and stringent operational and quality control procedures. This is particularly critical for remote island areas such as Con Dao, where vaccine transportation depends heavily on weather conditions, maritime and air transport, and other specialized logistics factors.
The presence of a GSP-standard cold storage facility on the island helps shorten the access gap to vaccines between Con Dao and the mainland, reduce the risk of supply disruptions, enhance safe vaccine stockpiling capacity, and enable the local authorities to implement vaccination programs in a more timely and proactive manner.
The GSP cold storage facility not only serves the three-year free influenza vaccination program, but also contributes to upgrading preventive healthcare infrastructure in an island area of special historical, defense, tourism, and national sovereignty significance.
Con Dao currently has a population of more than 12,000 residents and welcomes over 600,000 tourist arrivals annually. As an isolated island area experiencing rapid growth in tourism, labor mobility, and trade activities, greater demands have been placed on preventive healthcare capacity and disease risk control.
VNVC’s sponsorship program contributes to strengthening local conditions for proactive community healthcare, reducing pressure on medical examination and treatment services during peak tourism periods, and supporting the development of Con Dao as a safe, civilized, and sustainably developed destination.
Donation of an electric vehicleTO THE CON DAO MUSEUM FOR EXHIBITION AND OPERATIONAL SUPPORT
At the ceremony, Tam Anh General Hospital, a member of the same healthcare and wellness ecosystem as VNVC, also donated an electric vehicle worth VND 500 million to the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Museum and Library (Con Dao Branch), contributing to improved operational conditions and professional activities related to preserving and promoting the historical and cultural values of this historically significant maritime and island region of the country.

FOR ALL MILITARY PERSONNEL AND RESIDENTS OF THE CON DAO SPECIAL ZONE
Teams of VNVC doctors, nurses, and medical staff from the mainland also traveled directly to the island to carry out the first vaccination campaign for approximately 500 officials, soldiers, and local residents. At the same time, they provided guidance and transferred all safe vaccination procedures and operational processes for the GSP-standard vaccine cold storage system in accordance with international standards and regulations of the Ministry of Health and the Department of Health, enabling local healthcare personnel to gain full proficiency in vaccine preservation technologies and procedures and to effectively and safely utilize large vaccine supplies over many consecutive years.
VNVC also committed to prioritizing the supply of next-generation and scarce vaccines to meet the vaccination needs of military personnel and residents in Con Dao, thereby promptly preventing disease outbreaks, improving public health, and ensuring safety for the growing number of visitors coming to this sacred and beautiful island.
