VNVC aids flood victims with medical supplies and free vaccinations

Joining the nationwide effort to support communities devastated by storms and floods, Tam Anh General Hospital System and VNVC Immunization Center System delivered thousands of family medicine kits, medical supplies, and necessities directly to many healthcare facilities in the northern mountainous provinces affected by Typhoon No. 3, timely providing healthcare support for the affected areas.

In the spirit of national unity and mutual support, over the past few days, healthcare workers within the health ecosystem of EcoPharma - Tam Anh General Hospital - VNVC Immunization Center System, and ECO Pharmaceuticals, have conducted fundraising drives collecting money, books, clothing, and more, joining the nationwide effort to aid communities affected by storms and floods.

VNVC immunization centers in Thai Nguyen, Yen Bai, and Tuyen Quang are ready to provide free tetanus vaccines and anti-tetanus serum to those exposed. Additionally, VNVC is offering a 10% discount on typhoid and cholera vaccines nationwide.

The first aid shipment from Tam Anh General Hospital System and VNVC Immunization Center System has arrived in Lao Cai and Thai Nguyen, the hardest-hit provinces. Subsequent deliveries will be made to Tuyen Quang and Yen Bai to support the local population and healthcare workers.

Over 7,000 family medicine kits and village medical kits were donated, including 5,000 to Thai Nguyen, 500 to Lao Cai, 1,000 to Tuyen Quang, and 500 to Yen Bai. Each kit contains 12 types of essential medicines and supplies to treat common health problems during and after the floods and storms, such as diarrhea, fever, infections, and allergies. All medicines are sourced directly from the high-quality pharmaceutical inventory of Tam Anh General Hospital System to best serve the health needs of the affected population.

Over 1,200 raincoats, flashlights, power banks, rubber boots, and disinfectant spray bottles were donated to Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, and Yen Bai to support the local population and rescue workers in their efforts to overcome the damage caused by storms and floods. Furthermore, in response to power outages at several medical facilities in Lao Cai, Tam Anh General Hospital System donated 3 generators to ensure the continuity of patient care and treatment.

Over 2,500 backpacks, books, and school supplies were donated to students in Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, and Yen Bai to help them return to school and begin the new school year.

VNVC Tuyen Quang Immunization Center also contributed to the building of 4 houses for local residents who lost their homes due to the storms and floods.

To provide timely support to the people in Northern Vietnam, staff from Tam Anh General Hospital System and VNVC Immunization Center System continue to sort and pack essential supplies for subsequent relief efforts, delivering them directly to representatives from the Provincial Department of Health and local authorities.

A convoy of aid vehicles departed from Hanoi for the northern mountainous provinces severely affected by Typhoon No. 3.

Lao Cai Provincial Department of Health expressed gratitude for the prompt and practical support from Tam Anh General Hospital System and VNVC Immunization Center System. “These are all supplies that the province is currently lacking and urgently needs; they will be immediately deployed to support district-level healthcare facilities in remedying the consequences of Typhoon No. 3”.
