VNVC - Vietnam's largest immunization center system in terms of the number of doctors, nurses, and medical staff
In just 8 years, VNVC Immunization Center System has experienced rapid and significant growth, expanding its network to include hundreds of large, modern, and safe vaccination centers nationwide, serving tens of millions of customers annually. VNVC consistently introduces and implements many new-generation vaccines for children and adults, often as a first-in-Vietnam provider.
VNVC has also made significant contributions to transforming the landscape and quality of immunization services in Vietnam, providing people with more choices for safe, convenient, and high-quality vaccines, including proper storage, efficient vaccination procedures, and high-level customer care at reasonable costs. Importantly, VNVC has cultivated a professional, high-quality work environment for preventative healthcare personnel, including doctors, nurses, and medical staff.
Recently, VNVC announced plans to invest in and construct a vaccine and biological product manufacturing plant utilizing leading-edge global technology and adhering to EU GMP (European Union Good Manufacturing Practices) standards. This facility will produce various vaccines and biologicals within Vietnam. VNVC has also initiated discussions regarding collaborative production of certain Sanofi (France) vaccines and key biological products with other major global pharmaceutical companies.

Mr. Vo Tuan Hien, Human Resources Director of VNVC Immunization Center System, stated that VNVC is the first and only vaccination provider in Vietnam to have successfully built a highly specialized, professional workforce of over 10,000 staff - including more than 3,000 doctors, nearly 4,000 nurses, and over 3,000 other healthcare professionals - in just 8 years of operation. This high-quality workforce not only supports vaccination services at VNVC but also contributes expertise and skills to the field of preventative medicine, participates in scientific research, and facilitates technology transfer, positioning VNVC for future collaboration in the production of crucial vaccines in Vietnam - a significant advancement for both VNVC and the country as a whole.
To attract, retain, and engage a large number of highly skilled employees, competitive compensation, benefits, and welfare policies are crucial. At VNVC, 100% of employees received full salaries throughout the 3 years of the pandemic; no employee experienced salary cuts, benefit reductions, or policy changes. VNVC proactively provides training when the supply of personnel does not meet the system's needs for a high-standard, professional vaccination service
To secure high-quality personnel, VNVC has made significant investments in attracting talent across all areas. "Upon recruitment, even if a nurse already meets high standards compared to the general labor market, we still provide continuous training for 2 to 3 months in professional and service skills before they can work at a VNVC center, and even then, only in an assistant injection role. After several months of real-world experience serving customers, they can then test for promotion to a primary injection position".
"After a set period, each nurse will participate in a skills test to confirm their competence and have the opportunity for promotion, salary increases, and bonuses as per regulations. Therefore, they all strive to learn, train, and serve customers with safe and gentle immunization services", said Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, MSc., Nursing Director of VNVC.
In addition to key personnel such as doctors and nurses, VNVC also pioneers in training and developing high-quality human resources in many "niche" areas, such as logistics staff, and personnel to operate and control the quality of internationally standardized cold storage facilities, in order to operate and control a system of hundreds of large-scale vaccine cold storage facilities nationwide according to the strictest standards to ensure the quality and safety of vaccines.

Through collaborations with major domestic and global research institutes, and leading vaccine manufacturers worldwide, VNVC places particular emphasis on promoting scientific research and training specialized research personnel in vaccines, viruses, and bacteria prevalent in the community, such as pneumococcus and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), with the goal of contributing meaningful statistical data to scientific research.
Currently, VNVC has partnered with the Tam Anh Research Institute (TAMRI) and the Tam Anh General Hospital System to conduct a large-scale study on "The prevalence and serotypes of pneumococcus in a population of healthy Vietnamese children aged 6 months to 5 years", which is expected to be published in 2025.
In addition, VNVC encourages and facilitates its staff to pursue advanced degrees, such as master's degrees and doctoral studies. VNVC also fosters a very active movement of scientific research and innovation in nursing practice, with a large-scale national scientific conference held annually.
From these movements, many successes have brought meaningful practical value and pioneering advancements to Vietnam in the field of safe vaccine immunization.
VNVC is the first unit in Vietnam to initiate the upgrading and standardization of refrigerated vaccine transport vehicles to become a professional GSP-standard "mobile cold storage facility" system for vaccine transportation. In addition to this, there are "specialized vaccine containers" that are specifically designed, with suitability calculated down to each millimeter of thickness and gram of weight, to ensure safe temperatures for the vaccines being transported, depending on the type, quantity, and transport distance of the vaccines, thereby proving the safety and maintaining the optimal quality of the vaccines until they are administered to customers.
The advent of the "mobile cold storage facility" model helps VNVC complete a crucial link in the GSP-standard vaccine preservation chain on a large scale and among the most modern in the country.
